A REFLECTION ON BLOGGING

Web Log = Blog.

Its as much as anything a social phenomena.
By it's nature it's your stuff (as a blogger)..
Your perspective, your comment, your information, your corner of the world,
in fact to a point, your diary.

The" Web" part of it is about connection, it's about 'putting it out there'...in cyberspace.
It's wishing for someone to notice, agree, disagree, feel moved, or encouraged or whatever.
Ultimately, it's about interaction and chain reaction,
otherwise you may as well write your stuff in a lovely little book.

Sometimes discovering people and info etc on a blog, is like an adventure
it's new unfarmiliar waters.
You relate it all to yourself, and your circumstances....you read your own stuff into it,
and you sometimes develop a feeling of familiarity to the blogger,
that is well perhaps unrealistic...but hey that's just what happens.

Little favourite blogs become part of the daily routine...'coffee and blog' for breakfast.

So dear blogger, don't be surprised that every so often there's a bit of a spill over.
Don't be surprised if you get a variety of responses. People are different, they're all at different stages, they have different needs, and even agendas.
It's a bit like celebrity, if you put it out there you may have to 'wear' a bit of flack.
You've jumped out of the goldfish bowl, into the big river...it's not all going to be under your control.

So, when you'r a bit grumpy, or have a cold or flu or otherwise feel miserable.
Go to bed with a good book, a cup of lemon tea and some sort of medication....steer well clear of negative comments on your blog, or telling interesting but complicated and not really helpful stories about other people or situations you have found difficult. You'll probably regret it later...

This advice dear reader can, and should be applied to the social phenomena... Face book.

  1. Very good advice indeed! One of my very best friends is someone I met through our blogs. Since we live an hour and a half away from each other we only get together in the real world on occasion but we do keep track on facebook and just yesterday we had a fascinating discussion sparked by a disagreement over a video. It's weird how all these worlds overlap, isn't it?

PS I love the name of your blog.
