Dear Reader

Any reference to any person living or dead is purely
coincidental, and not meant to cause offence , only to provoke humour, and as a vehicle to "get things off my chest"

Looking glass...

In the mirror we see a reflection,
and sometimes we see ourselves,
(or our present understanding of life)
more clearly in the reflection of our wider influences...
sometimes that's good and sometimes it's a bit challenging.

Symbols....

She wondered how you might symbolise....

'----- is divorced after many years of doing everything to make it work,
partly because her partner refused to grow up, and emotionally connect.
Possibly due to issues of mental health, and a propensity to smoke too much dope....
And, after a time, despite having been in a delightful and amazing relationship,
is again single, due to the fact that her Fiance died suddenly,
and tragically from an Aortic Aneurysm.'

She  did wonder if all these neat little symbols
gave much of a  picture of what's going on,
or how people might really be feeling.

Would a little heart symbol really give you the story?

She wondered, but she also knew that if your heart breaks...
it can, in time take wings and fly free...

Taking A Line For A Walk...

When it came to her drawings and reflections,
Rozie thought of it as' taking a line for a walk.'
She began to think about a lot of things
and how powerful the line could be,
sometimes the ideas were strong and dangerous...
That's when it seemed a bit more like taking a Lion for a walk.

And that dear reader is also a reflection on living....
Sometimes you have to be a bit brave and grapple with some very difficult and at times dangerous things.

Cooking with Rozie....

This is a little tribute to a blog that I recently discovered, and really love.

Check it out here....

Rozie Gets 'Religious'...

Or, Rozie wondered about "Blessings and Curses".

Rozie spent a lot of time with disabled people, and when she thought about some of the things she'd believed about faith and life and what it's all about, she wondered.....

Were the bad things blessings, or curses?.....

Talking Through Your Issues...

When Rozie spoke to 'the Guru' about what was bothering her...
she came away with a whole lot of other things that bothered her.
Mostly, (she thought quietly)...it was him!

Driving in Assisi....

What with driving on the other side of the road...
and driving on the other side of the car...
Mother Superior declared...
"It's all very well if your a man and have that gift of spatial awarenes!"

When You're Waiting For A Train That Never Comes....

Your mind can wander, and look for odd things to provide distraction,
strangely Rozie was still able to find a "Roger" distraction, even in the midst of a train strike that left the ladies stranded in Florence.

Apparently.... challenged in the 'humour department'.
Rozie couldn't help but notice the English man.
And as usual ...thought of him as a kind of twin, of Roger Peabody.
(Too much time waiting for trains that kept getting cancelled due to strikes.)

Train Tickets....

After all the hastle with tickets and money and not having things explained,
there's nothing like a bit of,  'Ita' and 'The Weekly" to settle the nerves.

Shopping...

We enjoyed the shopping, and also the looking.
Some of the shops are like exquisite little treasure chests.
The craftsmanship is superb...
The stand outs were Venice, The markets of Florence, and Paris.
Our cases are packed to the gunnel's.

Trouble In Paradise...

After an evening in town and a late night stroll,
around the tranquil streels of Lido, (a resort island of Venice)....

" Well it's no good sitting around doing nothing"
she exclaimed....to Rozie who was sitting around doing nothing!

After waking the neighbours, and practically waking the dead, we were saved by a dear French couple who got the door open.
We're not used to locks with 4 bolts and a latch...so much turning to the left. Then a nifty sort of pull and shove at the end

Steffano (the proprieter), was just bemused, and noted
"that it's different in Australia....It's practically boring."

The Beach On Lido....

Lido is amazing for it's relaxed and gentle atmosphere,
It's been so hot, really hot.
The women here are mostly brown, and thin.
However there's still an amount of sagging flesh, and the odd plump body.
But they all still wear bikini down to the beach and also to the bar on the beach.
It's quite liberating and freeing, that no one bats an eyelid.

When The Cat's Away...

That's the sort of response, from an 18 year old male, that's going to keep any mother happy.
When she's on the other side of the world...
and what can she do anyway?

Roma...

Thankfully the next stop was Rome.

When we started in Rome,
our hotel 'Selene', had a deal going with a near by restaurant - 'Cotto'.
The manager was a bit stand offish at first, well lots of rules for this and that.
One table for drinks, another for dinner (musical chairs),
but he was OK in the end, and we enjoyed the food and of course the 'Prosecco'.

Back Again....

It's been a while, and Rozie and Mother Superior are finally back from the 'big trip abroad'.
Lots of stories to tell, lots of reflections to be shared, so here we go....

The minute we landed in Quatar, it was apparent that it's a mans' world.
Men in white, women in black.
Men face exposed, women face covered.
Men in front, women behind.
Men looking at women, women not making eye contact.
